Everything you might want to ask.
Grouped by what matters most — privacy, offline, your computer, what it can do, setup, updates, and buying. Still stuck? We're a quick email away.
Privacy
Yes. The assistant runs entirely on the computer you plug it into, using that computer's own power. Your questions, your files, your photos, and your voice are never sent anywhere.
There's no cloud, no account, and no company — including us — that can see what you type. When you unplug the stick, nothing about your conversations is left on that computer.
No. The product has no analytics, no tracking, and no “phone home.” It doesn't build a profile of you and it doesn't report anything back to anyone.
The only things that exist anywhere are what you choose to save on the stick itself — your conversations and your settings — and those stay in your pocket.
No, and we couldn't even if we wanted to. UnPoco has no way to send your conversations to us. They never leave the device, so there's nothing on our side to read.
The website is separate from the product. If you join the waitlist or email us, we keep the email address you give us so we can reach you about the launch — and nothing more than that.
Full details are in our Privacy Policy.
On the stick, as ordinary files on your own device. Because nothing is ever transmitted, there's no connection for anyone to intercept. Keep the stick somewhere safe, like you would any USB drive.
Offline
Never. It's built to work with no signal at all — on a plane, in a basement, on a remote trip, or with your Wi-Fi simply switched off. Here, offline isn't a limitation; it's the entire point.
Everything UnPoco needs already ships on the stick. The “brain” travels with it. When you plug in, it uses the computer's own hardware to think — no servers, no live downloads, no waiting on a connection.
No. UnPoco makes no network calls while it runs. If you'd like to prove it to yourself, turn on airplane mode and use it exactly as normal — nothing changes.
Which computers
Windows PCs and Macs. UnPoco looks at the computer it's plugged into and automatically uses the best it can — a graphics chip if one is available, otherwise the regular processor.
No. UnPoco adapts to whatever you have. On a fast machine it runs quicker and smarter; on an older one it gently scales itself down so it still works. You don't choose any of that — it just figures it out.
No installation, no admin password, no system settings to change. UnPoco runs from the stick, in the part of the computer you already have permission to use.
That's what makes it work on locked-down work laptops and shared or library computers where other software is blocked.
It makes no lasting changes. While it's open it uses some of the computer's power, like any program does. When you quit and unplug, it's gone — nothing installed, nothing left behind.
That's exactly who we built it for. Because there's no install and no admin rights needed, it runs in places that block normal software.
One honest caveat: some highly restricted computers block USB drives entirely. That's a rule set on the computer itself, not something UnPoco can override.
The first release focuses on Windows and Mac. If Linux matters to you, tell us at support@unpoco.ai — it helps us prioritize.
What it can do
Everyday things: write and reply to messages and emails, explain something in plain words, summarize a long letter or document, make a list or a plan, practice what you want to say, or get unstuck on a task.
It can also read a photo for you and hold a conversation out loud.
Yes. Drag in a photo — a menu in another language, a letter, a label, a screenshot — and ask about it. UnPoco reads it and explains it in plain language.
Yes. Tap the microphone and speak; it listens and can answer out loud. It's a gentle option when typing is hard, your hands are full, or you just prefer talking.
You can tell it things to keep in mind — like “I'm a nurse, keep answers short” — and it will remember, but only on your stick and only for you. You can read or clear what it remembers any time.
No AI is, and we won't pretend otherwise. UnPoco is a helpful assistant, not a final authority. For anything important — health, legal, or money matters — treat it as a smart starting point and double-check with a professional.
It understands and replies in many languages, and can help translate between them. We'll publish the full supported list at launch.
Setup
Plug the stick into a USB port, open it, and double-click “Start UnPoco.” A familiar chat window opens. That is the entire setup — there are no other steps.
The very first start takes a short moment to get everything ready, and shows a calm “waking up” screen while it does. After that, it opens noticeably faster each time.
No account, no sign-in, and no email required to use it. There's nothing to remember and nothing to lose.
Either. UnPoco has a connector for each, so it fits modern laptops and older computers without an adapter.
UnPoco is designed to fix itself quietly and explain things in plain English — never a scary error screen full of code. If you're ever truly stuck, email support@unpoco.ai and a real person will help.
Updates
Because UnPoco runs offline, it never updates itself quietly in the background. When we release improvements, you'll be able to update on your own terms. Until you choose to, your stick keeps working exactly as it is.
That's the plan — improvements to what it can do, plus optional “packs” tuned for specific needs. Waitlist members will hear about them first.
We'll share the details at launch. Our intent is simple and fair, with no surprises and nothing required to keep using what you already bought.
Refunds & shipping
We're taking names now and will email the waitlist the moment it's ready, with first access. Joining costs nothing and commits you to nothing.
We'll announce pricing at launch. Reserving your spot on the waitlist doesn't lock you into a purchase.
We intend to stand firmly behind UnPoco. The full refund and return terms will be published at launch and shown clearly before any purchase. You can always reach us at support@unpoco.ai.
We're planning broad availability. Tell us where you are at support@unpoco.ai and we'll factor it into our shipping plans.
No. UnPoco is a physical product you own, designed to work offline forever — not a service you must keep paying for to use. Any optional extras will be clearly optional.
